Social Commitment

Grupo Siro has a strong bond with Spanish society and specially with Castilla y Leon region , the place in which great part of the production takes place. Since the company's birth, this has been one of its most important values.

This bond is also carried on through to the work force and the environment of the production centers. Therefore special attention is always given to finding innovative solutions to help put into first frame the defence of the interests of the employees.

Grupo Siro has an important commitment for the social and industrial integration of the disabled. Fruit of an agreement with the ONCE Fundación in 1998, the building of the factory of Snacks de Castilla y León was put under way in Venta de Baños, employing people with disabilities.

At this time Grupo Siro has three Specialized Centers of Employment. Three of them in Venta de Baños (Palencia) dedicated to the production of snacks and pasta; and one in Paterna (Valencia) dedicated to the production of sliced bread.

The total number of people working in these Specialized Centers of Employment has grown to more than 300, approximately 90% of whom have some kind of disability.

The work positions are adapted to the personal situation of each collaborator and the carry out their jobs with complete normality.

Participation with local groups and organisations


·	First company to sponsor a sports person to attend the Paralympic games in Peking 2008. ONCE and Spanish Paralympic Committee.


·	Collaboration with different Food Banks.

·	Program for equality of opportunities between men and women.

·	Agreements with universities and training centers to offer an opportunity to those who may not have sufficient resources.

·	Participation in the DIKE plan, a program designed to help the integration of the victims of domestic violence.

·	Collaboration with entities such as SIL (Services of Integration to the workplace) in Palencia and Valladolid or the association ASPAYN.

·	Collaboration with the Foundation San Cebrian of Palencia, supplier in charge of the labeling of products, preparation of batches and other manual tasks.
