 |
| Key moments: |
 |
1991/93:
After the acquisition of Galletas Siro, the new management
team designs an innovative strategy for the company based
on the development of a nationally commercial structure
and the growth of supply, becoming more varied and of
higher quality. In only two years of management, income
has doubled going from 9,62 million euros in 1991
to 19,23 million euros in 1993. |
 |
 |
From
1993 to 1998: The key concept is expansion.
Grupo Siro incorporates to its project four more companies
from the food sector: Reglero S.A. (1993), Río
Productos Alimenticios S.A. (1994) the group of companies
KP Larios (Dora Carreño S.A. and Rosdor) (1995),
and finally the companies Pastas Ardilla and La Familia
(1998). The last three bought from multinationals, installed
in Spain, such as Barilla, United Biscuits and Danone.
Thanks to these incorporations of known prestigious national
brands, the Spanish group diversifies its activity and
becomes solid as the great company that it is today inside
its sector. |

1998:
Project of integration for
the disabled. In this year a very special project
for Grupo Siro is put under way: the factory of Snacks
of Castilla y León in Venta de Baños. In
1997, Grupo Siro comes to an agreement with Fundosa, the
ONCE Foundation, to carry out an initiative arising from
the pledging to integrate occupationally a collective
of disabled people. One year later the construction of
a new production centre inside the industrial estate of
Venta de Baños in Palencia is initiated, to then
be inaugurated on 21st May 1999 by the then president
of Castilla y Leon region, Juan José Lucas.
The necessary
investment to start up the project was 7,21
million euros, so as to be able to finally
take on 50 employees, 80% of which are disabled.
The company was built on just one level and adapted
to the different needs of the disabled. Another
fundamental aspect carried out by the Foundation
ONCE was the training of the employees, permanently
monitored by the knowledge and experience of Grupo
Siro.

which is recognised as a 'Centro Especial de Empleo' (Special

Grupos Siro builds a new pasta factory in Venta
de Baños, Palencia, Spain investing 42,07 million
euros in the amplification of it's production center which
already occupies 140.000 square meters. Also Grupo Siro

plant and another in it's snacks production plant, both
up and running since the beginning of the year. Thanks
to this project, Grupo Siro has created 55 new jobs in
the area, more than 50% of which are for people with disabilities.
The new pasta factory is one of Grupo Siro's most ambitious
projects in recent years being that it has concentrated
all it's production capacity on the 2 pasta brands Ardilla
and La Familia. The investment in the building and instalation
of this plant takes up half of the total sum, 21.04 million
euros, and also has become the first and only factory
in the world equipped with the new Buhler technology (the
largest producer of machinery for the production of pasta
in the world) permitting the production of the best quality
pasta on the market.
Grupo Siro amplifies it's biscuit production capacity
by incorporating the biscuit factory "Horno de Galletas
Aguilar". This acquisition allows Grupo Siro to speed
up it's strategy and grow within the biscuit industry.
The new factory will be built in Aguilar de Campoo, replacing
the actual production plant, and will be regarded as a
pioneer within biscuit production industry.
