Grupo Siro and the multinational Cerealto have reached an agreement through which Cerealto acquires the factories of Antequera (Málaga) and Briviesca (Burgos). With this operation, both companies  become stronger in their respective businesses, as Grupo Siro will be able to optimize its industrial processes and to continue to innovate in its products, concentrating the current production of these categories in its  pastries factories located in Venta de Baños (Palencia), Medina del Campo (Valladolid), Navarrés (Valencia) and El Espinar (Segovia) , and its bread factories located in Paterna (Valencia) and Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia).

Thus, Cerealto becomes a reference in the manufacturing ofmultiple categories of cereal-based products , and  expands rapidly in Southern Europe. This operation couples with the Company’s recent acquisition of a biscuitsfactory in Portugal.

The agreement  entails Cerealto’s commitment to maintain 100% of all jobs and the working conditions of the almost 600 people, as well as their current seniority.

Aligned with its sustainability policy, Cerealto will continue to work with local suppliers, fulfilling all previous commitments with Grupo Siro’s suppliers, which will contribute to the production capacity of both factories. Likewise, Cerealto will incorporate the new projects of its clients in Spain and other international markets.

Moreover, Grupo Siro, Mercadona’s inter-supplier for the categories of biscuits, bread, pasta, pastries and cereals, reinforces its positioning as a specialist focusing on efficiency and enhancing its processes to permanently achieve the highest quality standards, food security and consumer satisfaction.
